This Privacy Policy explains how Paperkappal Technologies (“we”, “us”, “our”), the owner of ChatSevai, collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit this website, use the ChatSevai dashboard, or chat with an eSevai Centre’s WhatsApp number powered by ChatSevai. It follows the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Our role
ChatSevai is software used by eSevai Centres. For this website, demo enquiries and Centre accounts, we decide how data is used. When you chat with a Centre’s WhatsApp number, that Centre decides what it needs for your application, and we handle the data on the Centre’s behalf and according to this policy.
2. Information we collect
- Demo enquiries: name, centre or business name, mobile number, district and any message you send through our form.
- Centre accounts: owner and staff names, contact details, WhatsApp Business number and billing details.
- Customer chats: WhatsApp number, profile name, messages, answers to service questions and documents uploaded to a Centre.
- Payment references: UTR or transaction reference numbers and payment screenshots. We never collect card numbers, bank passwords or UPI PINs.
- Technical data: basic server logs such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, used for security.
3. How we use it
- To respond to demo requests, onboard Centres, bill subscriptions and provide support.
- To pass a Customer’s request to the Centre they contacted, check that documents are clear, and send status updates on WhatsApp.
- To keep audit records, prevent fraud and misuse, and meet legal obligations.
We rely on your consent, given when you submit our form or message a Centre, and on uses permitted by law. You can withdraw consent at any time. This stops further processing but does not undo processing already done.
4. WhatsApp messages
We or a Centre will message you on WhatsApp only after you contact us or agree to receive messages, for example by submitting our demo form. Messages relate to your enquiry or request. You can stop them at any time by replying STOP or by writing to us. Messages are delivered through the WhatsApp Business Platform operated by Meta Platforms, Inc., and Meta’s own privacy policy also applies to your use of WhatsApp.
5. Who we share it with
- The eSevai Centre processing a Customer’s request.
- The official government portal where the Centre files the application.
- Service providers who help us run the Platform, such as Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) and secure cloud storage and hosting providers.
- Authorities, when required by law or a valid legal order.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not use documents for advertising.
6. How long we keep it
Unfinished applications expire automatically. Documents and application data are kept only as long as needed to complete the service and handle follow-up questions, and are then deleted unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Demo enquiries are kept for up to 12 months. Billing records are kept as required under tax law.
7. Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls, role-based permissions for Centre staff, and secure cloud storage. No system is completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform affected people and the authorities as required by law.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
- correct, complete or update your data;
- delete your data, as explained on our Data Deletion page;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
9. Children
Applications for a child must be made by a parent or lawful guardian, who gives consent on the child’s behalf. We do not knowingly track or target children.
10. Cookies
This website does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
